Who in their right mind would Blog about such a controversial topic?
I'm new to this blogging thing and don't really know how it works. But there have just been so many stuff on my mind about God/Religion and I don't really get to talk about it with people. So, i figured I'd go to the Internet.
Everybody has different beliefs about religion and God. Even I do. I was raised Catholic but there was a time when i was just so mad at God and I decided to tell everyone around me i was Atheist. Well that didn't go very far. I don't call myself Catholic, or Christian, or Lutheran, or what ever other Religions there are out there. I don't go to church, even though I feel like i need to, but i cant seem to find the right one for me. Any who, so i don't put a Religious "Label" on myself, but I can say I believe in God. And no i didn't have some kind of epiphany or anything tragic to make me believe in Him. I just always did.
It's not about seeing Him or proving He said or did such thing. Its about how one feels inside. I ask myself; How can it be possible that there are people out there who say they don't believe in God? I understand that someone can say that they don't believe in Religion, but how can someone explain to me some scientific mathematical equation about how we feel inside. Yea they can say its hormones, they can say our body releases toxins which make a chemical reaction and so forth. But Do YOU really believe we evolved from a single cell? and Even then, how did that Cell come to be? Someone must have placed that cell at the very beginning. Yes its a runaround topic. People can argue and argue about it. But have you ever stopped to think about how you feel?
A friend of mine once told me that he did not believe in God, or the Bible, because it is a book used to "control" society, We shouldn't need a book to tell us how to live, as if people don't know what being a good person is. And he may be right in some sense, I have read parts of it, not all, and I do sometimes ask myself, "does this sound controlling?" And honestly it does. And I'm not putting doubts or questioning God, I am expressing my opinion, and I am sure that if i was in front of Him now and i asked the questions i had He would not condemn me to hell. He made us, gave us knowledge and a brain to think and ask questions, so Why would He condemn you for using what he gave you and asking questions. He wouldn't. It would be like giving a lollipop to my son and then punishing him for eating it. It doesn't make sense. Another thing that stood out from what he said was that we shouldn't need a book to tell us how to be good people. And in my opinion, yea we shouldn't NEED a book to tells us how to be good people, the sad part is that WE DO NEED a book to be reminded how to be good people.
I don't think that in order to believe in God, you need to follow the Bible and never question, or you need to be in a Religion and call yourself a Catholic, or a Christian. In Order to believe in God you need to look at your surroundings, pay attention to what happens in your life, the people you meet, the way you feel. Feeling good inside because you helped someone out, or you did something out of the ordinary, whether it was volunteering, giving to a charity or even helping a family member, is what God feels like. The joy you feel, the love, and happiness you feel is what God is and feels like. You don't have to witness miracles or have tragedies happen to you in order to see what God is. All you have to do is Feel, and everyone feels.
Anyways I'm done for now.
